About Changdeokgung and the Huwon

Changdeokgung was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Its buildings follow the lie of the land rather than a strict axis, and behind them lies the Huwon, the rear garden of ponds and pavilions, which is visited on timed guided tours (royal.khs.go.kr).

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Changdeokgung and the Huwon before you go.
